his speech that Midlands had over 160 registered players on the books, so the club is in good heart for the future.Steve also made special mention, of all the sponsors that have contributed to Midlands being able to run a club so successful over the years, without there help, the club would not be able to function the way they have. He also paid special thanks to the ladies committee that perform their duties every Saturday at the club, putting in long hours, cooking food for everyone, not only all the rugby players, but alot of netballers use the facility as well, during the day.If you are keen to help out the ladies on Saturdays, you can contact Lynley Mangos, the club secretary. The clubrooms have had a makeover this year, with a new bar installed with a walkin chiller, and two 50 inch flatscreen T Vs have been added, for people to view. And by the size of the crowd in the clubrooms on Saturday night, the new bar got a right good christening. I was talking to a few Marist supporters after the game and they were just gobsmacked by the amount of support that we get out here at Winton. But all this wouldn't be made possible without you guys the !!SUPPORTERS!! keep it up guys.
Okay back to the rugby. On Saturday we had all Midlands teams playing at home except the Under 16s. The Midlands A grade team won 24--19 against Limehills, the B Grade team won 31--14 against Limehills, the two C Grade teams had a win and a draw against Limehills, and the D Grade team had a win against Limehills. The Midlands Un14s had a big win over James Hargest 34--20 with Stew Thomson scoring three tries. The Midlands Un 15s had a loss to SBHS Red 51--12. And the Midlands/Limehill Star Un 16s had a good win over Gore High 22--18. The Midlands Prem Bs won over Marist 23--20. And in the main game the Midlands Prems beat Marist well by 47 to 25. So all in all not a bad result for the club on Saturday.
